One of our large-scale research projects, designed and led by our team in collaboration with a major State Department of Education in Brazil, investigates a crucial question in cognitive science: why do students, even when presented with scientific evidence about the effectiveness of study strategies, continue to choose less efficient ones?
The study explores the mechanisms of metacognitive decision-making — understanding how learners evaluate, select, and persist in study behaviors that often contradict what science shows to be more productive. The findings aim to improve how educational systems foster awareness, autonomy, and strategic learning behavior in large populations.
Artificial Intelligence is also part of this ecosystem. Each behavioral intervention delivered to students through the PowerUP® app follows strict methodological and ethical principles based on Prof. Klier’s T.E.N. Method — Technology, Experience, and Neurocognition.
